Dimitri Fedorov is a resistance fighter of the Kreisau Circle and member of Maquis.

Background[]

A Russian-born resistance fighter, Dimitri had a harsh upbringing and life in Siberia, fighting together with his family against the Nazi occupation. During one of the skirmishes, he suffered a head wound: A grenade shrapnel struck his head and penetrated the skull, entering his brain. Rather than kill him outright, it "merely" destroyed the pain center of the brain, rendering him incapable of feeling pain.[1] This trait would come in useful during his career as a resistance fighter, and especially in the aftermath of his adventure of Venus: Fedorov infiltrated the newly established Oberkommando and was attempting to contact the Kreisau Resistance, when he was captured. Despite brutal torture involving electric shocks, a sledgehammer, and the loss of a molar and multiple compound fractures on both hands, he did not register the pain and was thus impervious to it.[2]

Before the Nazis could get anything out of him, he was rescued by BJ,[3] continuing his war against the Nazis in the Resistance. From 1961 to 1966, he fought together with his cousin, Hercules, until he was killed in action. Dimitri survived, again, and became a key player in the Maquis resistance.[4]

Interactions[]

New Colossus[]

Fedorov works undercover within the Nazi ranks in the Venus Oberkommando base. His cover is eventually blown after the Nazis discover him sabotaging their facility and attempting to make contact with the Kreisau Circle. This resulted in his capture.

Interrogation logs indicate Dimitri repeatedly mocked the Nazi's attempts at torture. He brushed off the electric shocks he was given despite steadily increasing voltage, even asking for a sandwich at one point. As the agent was struck in both hands with a sledgehammer he insulted his interrogator for lacking proper strength to use the tool. He was eventually knocked out by the interrogator after taking a sledgehammer to the face.

He is rescued by B.J. during his mission to assassinate Übercommander Thomas Wechsler. During his recovery in the Eva's Hammer, he still makes fun of the Nazi's lack of skill in torture.

Youngblood[]

Dimitri is met again in Youngblood, as a fighter for the Parisian resistance, who hands out several missions.

Personality and Traits[]

According to Interrogation logs, Dimitri is a very emotionally and physically durable man. Resisting electrical shocks despite an increasing voltage (something B.J. struggled with in 1946) and was still conscious enough to ask for a sandwich. When hit with a sledgehammer in both hands, Dimitri merely mocked his interrogators lack of strength to use the tool, and even took a sledgehammer to the face, a hit that would likely be fatal or catastrophic to a normal person. Years later the injuries seem to have had little effect on him as he's still active and hands out several missions to the "Terror Twins". After his rescue on the Eva's Hammer he mocks the Nazi's lacking skill in torture. Given all these facts, he's a very stereotypical Russian. Stoic, durable, and taunting.
