The Da'at Yichud Power Suit is a piece of ancient technology manufactured by the society known as the Da'at Yichud. It has been seen in various forms in Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and Wolfenstein: Youngblood.

Wolfenstein: The New Order[]

While searching the Atlantic Da'at Yichud vault with BJ and Set, Wyatt/Fergus discovers and activates the dormant power suit. Although he initially claims it for himself, BJ tells him that he should give it to Caroline when they return to base.

When the Kreisau Circle's headquarters comes under siege, Caroline saves BJ from two Guard Robots, employing the power suit to smash the robots single-handedly.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus[]

Caroline retains the power suit until Eva's Hammer is attacked by the Ausmerzer and Irene Engel captures her and Wyatt/Fergus. BJ, still recovering from grievous wounds suffered at Deathshead's Compound, gives himself up to save them. Engel betrays him and kills Caroline anyway, leaving the dormant power suit on the floor when forced to retreat from the encounter. BJ puts it on and uses it to save his companion from a Super Soldier. He then requires it to keep himself capable of fighting the Nazi occupation of America.

After BJ confronts and kills his father at his family's farm, the Ausmerzer lifts the farm house into the sky with its claws. BJ releases the claws, which causes the farm house to drop a great distance, knocking him out. He comes to trapped under debris with Nazi soldiers prying the power suit off of him with crowbars. The suit is no longer seen after this event.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood[]

Jess and Soph Blazkowicz receive similar power suits during their search for their father in occupied Paris. After they find him, BJ enhances their suits with the God Key, giving them the ability to capture bullets and throw them back with great force.

The Nazis have also successfully reverse-engineered the technology of the original suit to create their own versions, but the only ones seen in use are worn by Walter Winkler and Lothar Brandt.

Users[]

Functionality[]

"Your suit. The damp heat. The maddening itch. How did you endure it so gracefully? It's fitted so tight I struggle to breathe. Yet inside, Caroline, you've left a vacuum too great to fill."

The Power Suit is a powerful armored exoskeleton that connects with the wearer's central nervous system, which gives the wearer direct mental control over the suit's functions. This allows the wearer to bypass physical disabilities, such as Caroline's broken spine or BJ's massive thoracic trauma. It also provides protection from gunfire and sharp objects as well as radiation. However, it isn't as effective at protecting the user from blunt force. In addition, the suit is implied to be uncomfortable to wear for prolonged periods and not all that great at regulating the wearer's body temperature.

By the time of Youngblood, upgraded suits have been developed (some by the Fourth Reich) with more combat-oriented features, such as cloaking devices that let the user turn temporarily invisible, thrusters that allow flight, and even a head-mounted laser cannon in one case. However, they continue to be very rare, and the Nazi-built suits are only available to a select few high-ranking Nazi officials.

Trivia[]

  • The helmet of the power suit resembles the head of the Asgardian Destroyer from Marvel's Thor Comics.
  • Even though the suit is supposed to give B.J. the ability to perform a power slam attack, he can still do it without the suit. This is probably on account of the fact that he got a next-generation supersoldier body not long after losing the suit.
  • Even though Caroline has increased strength and bullet deflection with the suit, the player doesn’t. It only allows you to walk again, to perform a power slam attack, and increases your maximum armor to 200. This appears largely as a means of balancing gameplay versus adherence to the game's plot. However, Caroline's body size is smaller and not so heavily-muscled compared to BJ, so it's possible that the suit uses a majority of its power just to cover him from head to toe, therefore being unable to grant him the same level of powers as Caroline.
  • There's a possibility that Set modified the power suits with the contraptions, as Crush is the Ram Shackles, Cloak is an alternate version of the Constrictor Harness, and Power Jump is an alternate version of the Battle Walker.
