Fourth Reich has other meanings. See Fourth Reich (disambiguation) for other uses. The Fourth Reich is a fascist military junta that ruled over the Greater German Reich in the late 1980s, after the Nazi Party was overthrown by General Lothar Brandt and General Messer, which they see as both militarily and ideologically weak following the loss of Adolf Hitler and many key important figures . It consists of several high ranking officers in both the Wehrmacht, SS. and the Gestapo.
Events in Wolfenstein: Youngblood[]
The Fourth Reich appears near the end of Youngblood replacing the Third Reich as the main antagonistic faction. The Fourth Reich is established when Lothar, Julie, and several soldiers slaughter the soldiers guarding his penthouse that had previously been seized. After this, Lothar orders his ally General Messer to seize control of Berlin and overthrow the Third Reich. Lothar is shortly later killed by the Blazkowicz sisters at the Siegturm, ending his leadership of the Fourth Reich.
The ultimate goal of the Fourth Reich is to evacuate the surface of the Earth and live above the sky in floating cities to escape the abnormal weather caused by Hitler's doomsday device in what they call Operation Ascension. The cities will be powered by "black protostar" engines produced in the Lab X facility in Neu-Paris.
Despite the death of their leader, General Messer becomes the new Führer of Germany. Afterwards, they prepared to re-organize their forces to retake France and eventually the entire globe. As the Apocalypse and Operation Ascension has started, the Global Resistance must stop the uprising and end the Reich’s rule, once and for all.
