At the end of the level, if the time taken to complete the level is less than the Par, 500 points of score are given for each second difference. This compounds with any bonuses for 100% kills, 100% secrets, or 100% treasure, though it is difficult to achieve 100% in anything while still attaining a time short enough to attain a Par bonus. Boss levels and Secret levels are given no Par, so no such bonus may be attained.
This article will provide Pars for all Wolfenstein 3D and Spear of Destiny levels.

Spear of Destiny
As in Wolfenstein 3D, Par times for Spear of Destiny are defined in the source code, in WL_INTER.C. The mission packs for Spear of Destiny, Return to Danger and Ultimate Challenge, which were released at a later date, were also given Par times, though because they use the same executable as the original Spear of Destiny, all times are exactly the same as those for the original game. Consequently, they often ended up being completely inappropriate for the level's actual length.
Acknowledging this fault, Formgen (who released the mission packs) provided instead a "Time to Beat" for each level of the mission packs. The "Time to Beat" is only a simple challenge for the player, as the original Par time is the one that is used in-game. The "Time to Beat" has no effect on gameplay and in fact does not appear whatsoever in the actual game itself.
The following table provides Par times for Spear of Destiny (which, again, also apply to the mission packs) as well as the Times to Beat for them.
