Wolfenstein Wiki

Regarding this section in Trivia section:

"It is referenced on one occasion by DeathsHead that Hans should not "fail again" in killing B.J. this implies that the events of Wolfenstein 3D for the SNES could be connected since Hans doesnt die and can explain the burn on the side of Hans head where he is now bald, but this has yet to be proven. and the SNES version of the game has often been overlooked in story."

How does DeathsHead's "fail again" imply that this Hans is the same Hans from the original? Doesn't it make more sense that DeathHead is referring to Hans' failure to kill BJ at the cutscene at the end of the Castle level? If it was the same Hans from the original, why didn't Hans recognize BJ at the Raven's bar?

I don't think the game's writers ever intended this to be the same Hans since they clearly don't recognise each other. Promotional material like the visual graphic novel is usually not created by the same writers, and the visual novel screws up so much of the plot of RtCW (the Dagger of Warding was important? Since when?) that you could hardly call it canon; it doesn't even match the intro to the 2009 game, showing BJ finding the Thule Medallion in the General's jacket even though there's no sign he knew it was there when he's cornered at the catapult.
Generally games are higher canon than material based on games when judging what's true or false, and there's no sign RtCW was ever supposed to be set after Wolfenstein 3D or that BJ had been to the Castle before. The first clipboard shows they're inferring he's an Allied spy from his buddy having a cyanide capsule and the second is a security alert from two spies infiltrating the castle, which rather indicates nobody has ever shot their way in and killed Hitler before. There's also no indication that someone other than Hitler was now Fuhrer. Nevermind all that "fourth reich" stuff (why would they call it the fourth if they never established the third?). I'd suggest anything from those visual novels be confined to trivia and noted to be of dubious worth due to the novels contradicting the games constantly. Evil Tim 11:36, April 16, 2012 (UTC)

Grosse or "Grösse"[]

I've moved the original Hans Grosse to Hans Grösse due to references from manuals, et cetera, that place an umlaut on his name. If anyone can find such a reference for this one, I'd be quite grateful. I won't move it until there is one, but apparently there should be an umlaut.
